Why am I here? or rather, Who am I?

That is a question which haunts most of us at some point of time.

The point to be noticed is that, for some of us, that question keeps hovering above our heads, like an indelible mark. Some of these people are an enlightened lot. Others are plain loony. There is absolutely no point in one insane man calling his compadre loony. Then, thats why they try to put us in padded rooms, encased in comfortable strait jackets.

As one dreams on, a lot of inexplicable and impossible phenomena occur, in the privacy of one's mind. Those thoughts keep us going. They form the very root of our existence. Day in day out. Nothing but dreams, or for that matter nightmares to keep one going, in the slow march to inevitablity. We take pride in the fact that all of us die one day. That is the only tangible truth. The rest are but assumptions and hypotheses, made up by various theologists.

To hell with them. If there is a hell, that is.

I think that we ask this question to ourselves when attempting to conform or compartmentalise ourselves in a ficticious pre-fabricated world. You are what you are, regardless of any further thinking on the matter. We only get confused when we attempt to define ourselves in the context of others, limited by language, culture and our particular microcosim.
