A shroud of separation is filtering my senses. In this reality, only I exist. The world is mine to create. It is mine to imagine. I see various beings moving around in their grooves, walking, talking and living. They appear to be communicating; their interactions make me feel like I have taken a ticket to the wrong circus. Such an array of madness confronts me when I open my eyes. Losing their vision, my characters romp around fretting over infinite issues, resolving some and creating some. I wonder why I am unable to control my creations. They seem to be hell bent on doing what shouldn't be done, setting foolish precedents for eons to come. I don't think that I am alive now. Maybe I am dead and my soul is revisiting my past, my memories. The past has been an enigma, with so many loose ends which still remain unchained. Will I ever be able to revisit my past? There are so many things that I would want to do differently, if given half a chance. Such actions might lead to a new future for my world. And, if you really exist, my world will affect yours too. When you sit down and think about it, everything that we know of, are interconnected in some way, even though it may appear to be not at the first glance. Maybe I will be able to change the world by changing the timing of a sneeze. I seem to be illogical. There do exists things such as emotions, which apart from logic, make me do the things that I do. Possibly, it is all based on the theory of probability. A set of mathematicians would be able to predict the world's future in broad terms. But the minute details are random, unexplainable so far. If I am alive now, then there might be a chance that I'll lose my life soon. I could either die or not in the next moment. I am superstitious about many things. People record superstitions in their minds, and follow them innately at times. It may be that, these take root in actual observations and events. They could also be purely non sensical. I have a premonition that that my clock is ticking and the battery is running low. Should I live everyday like that is going to be my last day of my life? And how is one supposed to live the last day of one's life? Without a care in the world? Trying to do things which give joy, relief or sadness? To cast aside worries about the future? Not so, for me. I would rather account for the slim chance that I might be alive tomorrow. If one thinks that he is braced for what the future is going to throw up at him, then he is a fool. The future can be mundane, unexpected or bizarre. We all know that, don't we? But, being prepared for some adversities which have a high probability of occurrence wouldn't be uncalled for. It would be called wisdom by some and foolishness by others. In my view, if some of the risks are covered for, a life of 'hakuna matata' wouldn't be a bad choice. Worrying is part of being human. Letting go of all worries is hard. A man without worries might be labelled by the society as daredevil, holy man or lunatic. =))

Dreams...

There is a song by Kitaro, called ' The Lady of Dreams'...This is a very beautiful song. If only, this sweet melody could be expressed in words.
In the heart of your heart..s
When you think of love,
Never forsake me.
Wanting and dreaming you,
Each time I think of you
Lying naked beside me..
Only a Lady of Dreams,
She will bring magic
To sing to your heartstrings..
Only a Lady of Dreams
Come alive - you are all
That I desire !
Something tells me,
This is love that surrounds..
Only a fool
Without wisdom can see..
Blind as I am,
In your eyes,
My Lady of Dreams..
Save me, save me
A place in your heart..
Tears escape from me,
When we're apart..
Please dream of me now,
My Lady of Dreams..
My thought and wishes
Are all that surrounds..
Mysteries hold you
Then fly you away..
You know you are my life
My Lady of Dreams..
You know you are my life
My Lady of Dreams..
- Kitaro (parts of the lyrics of 'Lady of Dreams')

color give springy
note - color = rang, give = de, basanth = spring, basanthy = springy...
this particular movie is the talk of the town these days. its supposed to an excellent movie which will apparently move you to tears and cause other patriotic emotions in you.
i went and saw it today...
the way the movie was taken, ie. the direction and the cinematography, was superb.
the actors were also up to the mark.
but, the story was stupid.
i was LMAO when some people were wiping off a tear or two.
the characters should have been blessed with at least the minimum amount of human intelligence. it was soo predictable as well.
the music by a r rehman was damn good.
oh well! ciao!

Desolate Serenity

I went to an old temple at Mankode, on a biking trip yesterday. There were two of us, me and my old friend Arjun. When we reached there, there was no trace of human presence around the temple. It was eerie. It was beautiful.
We had come to know of this place from a newspaper article. You can read more about it here

What's Your Religious Philosophy?
You are Agnostic |
![]() You're not sure if God exists, and you don't care. For you, there's no true way to figure out the divine. You rather focus on what you can control - your own life. And you tend to resent when others "sell" religion to you. |

An Atruist's Burden
I am a person who can be termed to be an altruist. I can refuse noone when they ask hard enough. That would make it apt to label me as a pushover. I feel compelled to help out when someone needs my help, even when he/she hasn't asked for it. I do it for its sake. I usually turn down rewards offered to me for services offered. I merely relish the opportunity to help another person in any way that I possibly can, even if I have my hands full. Till a few months ago, I had this feeling in my mind that most of the people would be like me. A sort of a wonderland where co-operation is the defining force of existence.
I have had difficulties when I had to persuade others to help out with my friends' troubles. It may be that I am not a good persuader. I preferred finding solace in that feeling, than to shatter my Utopia. Some days ago, I tried to help out a friend of mine in a matter which was beyond my expertise. I sought out another friend with the required expertise and told him about the scenario. He told me something which has widened my vision considerably. It was a wakeup call of sorts, from the world of my imagination.
The essence of his words was that most people do not really want to waste their times with others' woes, when they had more than enough problems on their own. People like me are misnomers in this world. It was a simple explanation. It was a valid observation.

I wonder...
The night air felt so cool. The windows were already fogged. As I ran my fingers over the cold glass they left glistening wet streaks on the unfeeling surface. I opened the door and walked outside. I felt the wind rolling past my body.
The skies were clear that night. Not a single cloud in that vast vista. The stars were shining bright, twinkling relentlessly. Somehow, thoughts of my school days started pervading my mind. Those physics classes, where I'd learnt about mirages and twinkling stars, my old friends and teachers, all were flashing past me in a torrent of remembrances.
The stars were still shining. Twinkling with hope. Or, so I hoped. Some of those would be distant suns, sustaining life in their planets. Maybe some living being somewhere was staring at my sun, at this very same moment. How wonderful would it be for these minds to be able to contact each other.
Here I was, an abysmally small unit of the universe, speculating about it. I wonder whether the cells in my body ever have such thoughts. Perhaps, even every quark has the ability to think. When my life is over, I wonder what is going to happen to me.
My physical existence as a living being would cease and I would disintegrate into simpler particles. I wonder whether I have a soul which would be sustained. If the answer to that question is a yes, where would my soul go. Would it go into another living being, or to heaven or to hell. Or would it cease to exist as well.
Sometimes I wish I knew the amount of time I have left for being alive. Having a deadline has always done me a lot of good. It would make me utilise this chance at life I have and probably appreciate it. I wonder...

Sounds of Life
Music is a strange thing. It can make or break your mood at times. I have had situations where one had to grow up fast, to survive in one piece, mentally. During that spell there was a song which I listened to. It was put on repeat play. It was etched in my mind after two days of listening continuously to it. I hadn't slept for two or three or days in a row, having very little food and was delirious at some points. I was sitting like a zombie in front of the computer listening to "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor. Emotions of all kinds were running wild through my nervous pathways. In short, I was at war with myself. A stupid thing to do. The ability of my brain to logically evaluate the situation was lost somewhere in this madness. A mad man dancing with his demons, contemplating absurd situations of natures, as diverse and colourful as his imagination was permitting him to. Throbbing in the background was the song "Eye of the Tiger", which was incidentally the soundtrack of the movie Rocky III. I like to think that that song was somehow keeping me rooted in sanity, and helping me survive. Looking back at it, the things I'd done were abysmally stupid, and I wish that I could have handled it better. Past's past and there's no looking back, other than to register these experiences and keep them locked in the vault of experiences in the mind, for future reference or, for use as precedents. The lyrics of the song make little sense, but they are precious to me, as long as my memories remain in my mind.
Rocky III Soundtrack Lyrics
Song : Eye of the Tiger
Artist : Survivor
Risin up
back on the street
did my time took my chances
went the distance now I'm back on my feet
just a man and his will to survive
so many times
it happens too fast
you trade your passion for glory
don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past
you must fight just to keep them alive
It's the eye of the tiger
its the cream of the fight
risin up to the challenge of our rivals
and the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night
and he's watching us all with the eye of the tiger
Face to face
out in the heat
hanging tough
stayin hungry
the stack the odds still we take to the street
for the kill with the skill to survive...
It's the eye of the tiger
its the cream of the fight
risin up to the challenge of our rivals
and the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night
and he's watching us all with the eye of the tiger
Risin up
straight to the top
had the guts got the glory
went the distance now I'm not gonna stop
just a man and his will to survive
It's the eye of the tiger
its the cream of the fight
risin up to the challenge of our rivals
and the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night
and he's watching us all with the eye of the tiger
The eye of the tiger......
The eye of the tiger......
The eye of the tiger......

Why ?

Why do we do what we do?
Do we exist?
Or are we part of a gargantuan dream?
Why do we seek answers?
Why are we never satisfied with those answers?

Bassanio's Choice
Bassanio -
The world is still deceiv'd with ornament.
In law, what plea so tainted and corrupt
But, being season'd with a gracious voice,
Obscures the show of evil? In religion,
What damned error, but some sober brow
Will bless it and approve it with a text,
Hiding the grossness with fair ornament?
There is no vice so simple but assumes
Some mark of virtue on his outward parts.
How many cowards, whose hearts are all as false
As stairs of sand, wear yet upon their chins
The beards of Hercules and frowning Mars,
Who, inward search'd, have livers white as milk;
And these assume but valour's excrement
To render them redoubted! Look on beauty,
And you shall see 'tis purchas'd by the weight;
Which therein works a miracle in nature,
Making them lightest that wear most of it:
So are those crisped snaky golden locks
Which make such wanton gambols with the wind,
Upon supposed fairness, often known
To be the dowry of a second head,
The skull that bred them, in the sepulchre.
Thus ornament is but the guiled shore
To a most dangerous sea; the beauteous scarf
Veiling an Indian beauty; in a word,
The seeming truth which cunning times put on
To entrap the wisest. Therefore, thou gaudy gold,
Hard food for Midas, I will none of thee;
Nor none of thee, thou pale and common drudge
'Tween man and man: but thou, thou meagre
lead,
Which rather threat'nest than dost promise
aught,
Thy plainness moves me more than eloquence,
And here choose I: joy be the consequence!
And he chooses the right casket...

What a Wonderful World...
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.
I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.
The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They're really saying I love you.
I hear babies cry, I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll never know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world.

Darkness Dawned
The day was almost gone. The Light had some more time left, before darkness was to engulf all. The Earth is a funny thing, no? It spins, to keep the Light flashing on its surface. Maybe, it is the yin yang is a grand scale. Who knows.
The cool Night Wind had come to give solace to the weary. Solace was turning into the Devil’s fun for some. Chill had set in, crackling bones, which were shivering to its deadly tune. Yet, the Blood was flowing strong deep within the body. A heat which defied the Night was burning strong within. The Eyes of the Yeti were wide open now. .

Scarlett
Scarlett O’ Hara is an enigmatic woman. I saw in her, greed and passion; the emotions of life. She wanted Ashley Wilkes, the one thing which she couldn’t have, in spite of her charm, which made fools of other men. She had everyone under her feet, and she should have been extremely happy to have been blessed so. Yet, she wanted something which was beyond her reach.
Why is Scarlett so anxious to get her man Ashley? She could have chosen to be happy with Rhett Butler from the beginning of the days of their marriage. Yet, , it seems that her heart was bequeathed to Ashley Wilkes. This could be explained in terms of the mysterious factor called love, the alleged one thing which can’t be taken, but can only be received.
I beg to differ. We are all like that, most of the time, aren’t we? I am not talking about love. I am talking about desire for things which we don’t possess. In Scarlett’s case, she wanted the one thing she couldn’t have. If Ashley had willingly given himself to her in wedlock, she would probably move on to the next challenge, now that he is something which she’d conquered. We are a race of beings, who are rarely content with what we have. We always dream, greed and struggle for more. We want to satisfy our desires. The quirky nature of desire is, however, a bit hard to tame.
Finally, when she had lost both Rhett and Ashley, she falls back to Tara. Tara becomes her purpose. The future might have seen her recapture Rhett Butler’s heart.
Its common knowledge that, the satisfaction of one desire, leads to the creation of another one. There is always something more to be done, something better to be attained. It gives us purpose, and purpose is what life’s about, in a sense. A purposeless person is driftwood in the ocean of life. We may feel purposeless at times; yet we find reasons for continuance. Sometimes mundane things of life can become one’s purpose, even though one may feel that there is no purpose left in him/her. I believe that being content is the key to happiness; if one really wants to be happy.
‘Gone with the wind’ is an epic. Vivien Leigh’s portrayal of Scarlett O’ Hara is a feast for the senses. It makes you gaze in wonder at the intricacies of human behaviour.

Fests!!!
The new year is turning out to be an uber busy year for me. The whole of Jan is completely taken up by various inter collegiate events organized by the various departments of our college.
The tech fest of the EEE’s (which includes me) was named Urja 06 and was held on the 6th and 7th of this month. It went pretty smooth. I was helping out at the games arena at Urja, which was by far, the best gaming fest of its kind. The PCs were sourced from the hostel and the LAN was set up by the “Master” aka Pradeep James, the god of all things connected to computers. Shyam and Deepak were among the main brains behind the organizing of the event. The Master’s LAN took all the beating given to it with élan and we were quite surprised to see the network intact after two days of continuous fragging, racing and shooting(both goals and bullets,’doh)! Hats off to him, and all others who made the 0 p/l arena happen! There were of course, the other usual tech contests happening, which I didn’t have the time and privilege to watch.
On the 7th and the 8th, an auto show Geared 06(which is incidentally, Kerala’s biggest!) was organized at
There are still more in the offing this month. The Electronics people are ready to launch Dyuthi , the Mechs have one more ace up their sleeves with Yantra and the Civilians are coming up with Srishti 06. There might be more, but as usual, my memory fails me. What a nice start to the year!
