Negotiate If You Can

Some millenia ago, if I wanted something from you I would have taken my club and bashed your head in, and try to take that thing which I needed. But you wouldn't allow me such a clean getaway. You would try to bash my brains in. That used to be precursor of negotiation, I believe.
Nowadays, since we have all become so civilized, we try to talk over things, and arrive at a win win situation, and get along with life. Then again, we all know that you can't win them all. Life seems to be smooth for a good negotiator. Negotiation ought to become a religion or a branch of science, or simply art. Its a wonder it isn't a major religion now. Negotiations cater us in the walks of life. Negotiation should be taught as a part of life sciences at primary education levels. Its a beautiful art. One can study it all life, yet one can never truly master it. Because there might always be a better negotiator somewhere.

Well, I wouldnt simply call him a negotiator. He is such a person who can size up the other person or the other persons and act & speak accordingly to bring about the result that he desires.

So in the end no man can know everything. There are situations where the so called best will fail and in this same situation someone else might be better.

But you know what life is not simply negotiation. Its so much more. If you try to negotiate everything. You might end up wound up. The fun might get out of your life. Never allow that. Keep who you are in perspective. But the truth is from the pressures we all do loose ourselves or we rather let ourselves loose.

At every level in life you negotiate, as a child,a sibling, a friend ,a partner ,a boss, a subordinate, a parent and a grandparent. It is how well you negotiate not giving a feeling of
negotiation that makes you a success.

Agree?

Well, we negotiate with only one goal in mind. To get the best out of a deal. We compensate/argue/discuss and finally compromise, to satisfy both parties.

I like the club banging better :)

heh man...a crying baby is negotiating with its mom. our periods of rest are results of internal negotiations. life is full of negotiations, and we dont usually see them explicitly. they happen as part of life. :)
losing is also a part of negotiation. u cant win em all.
