Birthday, Death & Birth

It was my team mate's birthday today. We had made plans for a small celebration in the evening. The cake was scheduled to arrive by afternoon.

The news of another team mate's mother having passed away reached us by afternoon. We put off the celebrations. I had last seen his mother in an ICU a few months back. I had to go see him.

While I was at the house of the deceased, I received a text message which informed me that an old friend of mine had become a father today.
